Artist Statement: Trailhead signs are seldom tidy, often constructed by over-burdened forest rangers.  Parts of the sign may change and fade. The forest also changes, with fires, logging, loss of habitat. This may be the trailhead sign you see some day.

Materials & Techniques: Cotton fabric, commercial; archival pens, photos by artist, map imagined. Machine piecing, applique and quilting.  Photos on fabric from computer printer.  Drawing, writing.
