Artist Statement: Unlike mazes, which are puzzles intended to confuse and surprise, labyrinths have for many centuries been used as meditative and spiritual tools. Ranging from simple spirals to complicated patterns, they have been found carved into stone, worn into turf, and inlaid in medieval churches. This labyrinth follows the plan of the path on the floor of Chartres Cathedral.

Materials and Techniques: Cotton fabrics and batting, silk fabric, and paints. Hand appliquéd and quilted, machine pieced.

Dimensions: 20" wide x 24" high
