Artist Statement: As a child, my family and I would often go and see the newest born animals at the Aquarium or the Woodland Park Zoo. Since my family had a yearly membership to the Zoo, we went there most often. We three sisters have all grown up and gone our own ways, but we continue to pay homage to the newest born. This last winter, we had a short reunion and decided to go see the new baby elephant at the Zoo. We patiently waited in line for what seemed like hours to have our 10 minutes to view the ‘little one’ and her mother and aunties all take baths. The ‘little one’ was very curious about the wash bucket and water hose. She got so wound up and excited, she accidentally stepped on her own trunk! OUCH! But that made our whole visit worth it!

Dimensions: 20" wide x 24" high
