Artist Statement: For some time I have been experimenting with clamp resist dyed fabric which results in organic images of stripes and squares layered over each other to create an illusion of depth. This piece reminds me of standing in the shadows of the forest looking up through a canopy of trees catching glimpses of the blue sky beyond.

Materials & Techniques: Hand-dyed shibori clamp resist cotton. Machine pieced and appliquéd, and machine quilted.
