Artist Statement: These "flowers of sickness" show the damage to my joints from erosive osteoarthritis. A thin "batting" and longer and finer needles with metallic thread allow me to continue the handwork I love.
Materials & Techniques: Cotton sateen, flannel batting, cotton backing, synthetics, metallic thread, beading. Self designed and digitally printed, pieced as whole cloth. Hand quilted and hand beaded.
