Artist Statement: The early Spanish explorers in the Southwest were searching for El Dorado, the fabled City of Gold. Perhaps what they found was this – the adobe ruins of Chaco Canyon, glowing in the golden light of dawn.

Materials & Techniques: Commercial fabric, fused appliqué, machine and hand quilting.
