The workshops will be given by Craig Ingle, who is president of DPICS Digital Imaging, a company that specializes in digital photography, image editing and color printing. They will be given following our monthly CQA meetings in September and October, 2008 at Seattle Pacific University, Bertona Classrooms, 103 W. Bertona (at the corner of Nickerson), Seattle, WA.
Workshops will be limited to 25 people, with priority for CQA members. Two weeks prior to the workshop, non-CQA members may register if space is available, with a $25 fee. If there is sufficient demand, one or both workshops will be repeated. CQA members who have registered for a workshop but who do not attend will be charged a $25 fee. A waiting list will be maintained, and efforts will be made to fill any cancellations.

Digital Photo Editing of Artwork
August 30, 2008 - deadline for CQA member priority
This class will cover the basics of photo editing. It will cover a discussion of file types, file sizes and image quality, importing and organizing images, editing images (cropping, resizing, color modifications), saving images for submission to shows or for the web, and color monitor calibration. We will use Photoshop Elements (also applies to other editing software). You can download a free tryout version of Photoshop Elements for this class at: www.adobe.com/products/tryadobe. Participants will receive a detailed handout and CD.

Digital Photography of Your Artwork
September 27, 2008 - deadline for CQA member priority
The class starts with the digital camera, explains which file formats and settings are best for photographing artwork. It will also discuss topics pertinent to any type of fiberart photography, including backings and lighting. We will discuss differences and similarities between film and digital photography. Participants will receive a detailed handout and CD.
