Artist Statement: As a former scuba diver, I loved the enormous bull-kelp forests along the Pacific coast, attaching deep within the ocean, but always striving towards the light above. The dense machine stitch and hues of the hand dyed cloth create ripples reminiscent of water.

Materials & Techniques: Artist hand-dyed 100% cotton whole cloth quilt with freehand machine thread painting. Hand stitched (seed stitch) throughout.
