Artist Statement: Roots is a piece I began several years ago but only recently finished. It is the piece that inspired two of the series I have worked on the past few years: my Geology series, based on the "V" or triangle shape and how they manifest in geological structures, and my Tangle series, inspired by the local trees and their fantastic shapes.

Materials & Techniques: 100% cotton, machine pieced and machine quilted
