Approaching Storm
Layers of clouds thicken the early-morning sky;
Trees sway in the assaulting wind,
The last remaining leaves glide to the ground,
Creating a vivid blanket on the trail.
Crows caw, piercing the silence,
Causing my step to quicken.
Buoyant and energized,
I seek my refuge.
