Artist Statement: Challenged to use non-traditional quilt materials and constrained by requirements to use specific numbers of specific sizes and colors of squares and circles (i.e., nine 3-inch green squares and 12 partial yellow circles), I pushed myself to make something organic. Nothing is more organic than the circle of life, from seed to seedling to bloom to spent flower.
Materials & Techniques: Commercial cotton fabrics and batting, coffee straws, mylar, nylon netting, buttons, and florist wire. Machine pieced and quilted.
Dimensions: 28"W x 19"H
Photographer: Barbara Fox, 2009
