Artist Statement: This was inspired by a poem of the same name by Adrienne Rich and by the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The triangle shape, the Greek letter Delta, harkens back to the poem and to the power of the river.

Materials & Techniques: Hand dyed cottons by the artist, stitched with perle cotton, silk, linen and rayon threads. Machine pieced, machine quilted, hand stitched.
