Artist Statement: This quilt was inspired by the "Obon" Festival in which ancestors are honored. Likewise dragonflies represent a transition from one life to another. The Obon festival is one of the few traditional Japanese festivals that was allowed in the Japanese Internment Camps in the 1940's.
Materials & Techniques: Hand-dyed cotton sateen, beading; micro machine quilting, machine and hand appliqué
