Artist Statement: When experimenting with making a stamp of a bird, I printed and painted three chickadees on one strip of gray fabric intending to cut them apart. But after repeating that on a second and third strip, the quilt was on its way. Materials & Techniques: This quilt is machine pieced and quilted and most of the fabrics are cotton.
The bird stamp was first painted on with fabric paint, then stamped on the fabric and then more pigment was brushed onto the image.
