Artist Statement: In 2013, two close family members were faced with insurmountable challenges. I watched them as they moved forward past fear and made daily choices to embrace life as fully as they were able. This homey quilt salutes their courage and strength of spirit. Materials & Techniques: Indigio over-dyed, vintage Japanese yukata cottons pieced with commercial solids and embellished with No. 8 perle cotton threads.
