Artist Statement: I have always been drawn to the rusty gas generators, processing towers and the wonderful network of pumps, compressors and pipes at Gas Works Park on the north shore of South Lake Union in Seattle. The rusty shapes and brightly colored gears and pipes remind me that we need to gear up for a future where we protect the delicate balance of our fragile environment.
Materials & Techniques: Hand dyed and commercially printed fabric, fused applique and machine quilted.
Dimensions: 60.5"W x 34"H
Photographer: Marylee Drake
