Artist Statement: Circles can represent or be symbols of many things: people gathered in community, an individual, porthole views to an outside world, harmony, cycles of time, dishes used to nourish ourselves and each other, peace, perfection, sun, earth, moon, locations on a map.
At the half-century mark of the Seattle Center, our views arc from the hub of the present to both past and future events for this important feature of the city.
Materials & Techniques: Commercial cotton fabrics, cotton batting, cotton and polyester threads. Painted black bamboo rod uniting the three individual banners.
All elements machine pieced. Hand quilted.
Dimensions: 40"W (overall) x 36"H
