Artist Statement:  It was a joy to find a way to combine Czech buttons with the lovely silks that ended up in the quilt. While the quilt design is fairly simple I wanted the focus to be on showcasing the silk panels, molas and the Czech buttons.

Materials & Techniques:  Quilt includes 2 silk brocade panels of daisy like flowers woven into the fabric; 2 blocks of red cotton and red striped raw Thai silk and turquoise silk. Czech glass buttons. Hmong PA Ndau reverse applique blocks symbolizing heart and snail. Polyester batting and cotton backing.
