Artist Statement: I built this irregular-shaped vessel on a pentagram, a shape commonly found in nature. The multi-dimensionality of the flame-like sides is designed to give the illusion of movement.

Materials & Techniques: I employed hand piecing, free-motion quilting by machine, and free-motion threadwork. The base has hand-appliqued motifs. The vessel is made of silk fabric, which I painted.
