Artist Statement: Bear folklore exists worldwide. In some cultures, Bear possesses superhuman strength. In others, Bear is the keeper of dreams. Here, Bear uses her strength & dreams to resist being flung to pieces by a tumultuous world. Quilt made from commercial & hand-dyed fabrics, pieced & quilted by the artist, who often dreams of Bear.

Materials & Techniques: Hand-dyed and Commercial Cotton Fabrics. Freehand cut, pieced and quilted by the artist.
