Artist Statement: Fushima Inari is one of the most famous Shinto Shrines in Kyoto, Japan. Noted for its more than 1000 toris that climb the mountain behind it, the path becomes a meditation walk for many. Each tori has been donated by a family in memory of their loved one beginning in the year 711.
