Nudibranchs 2 by Carla Stehr![]() Artist Statement: Nudibranchs are snails without shells; they often have colorful “naked gills” on their backs. These White-lined Dorids can be found in marine waters of the Pacific Northwest Coast and are shown here munching on a bryozoan. Materials & Techniques: The nudibranchs are painted silk organza fused onto cotton fabric and wool batting. The bryozoan is paint applied through a handmade stencil.
