Artist Statement: How light and dark draws us in, makes us gasp and compels us to joyful wonder is fascinating to humans. Using layers of transparent and semi-transparent objects is the ultimate game of light play.  In this abstract I started with the elephants, the zipper and built up from these items. Deciding how many layers of sheers and where to place the elements in the transparency sandwich was a bit of a head game. Especially since I love a crowd. Where to let it breath and rest one's eye was interesting.

Materials & Techniques: Silk organza, tulle, cotton, zipper, paper, nonwoven material. Embroidery, hand stitching, fuse.
