Patty Hieb - Solstice MoonArtist Statement: As we know the Summer Solstice to be the longest day of the year, the moon of that Midsummer month is called the "Honey Moon." In ancient times during this special lunar month, mead made from fermented honey was drunk at marriage ceremonies, in hopes of fertility and successful childbearing.
