Artist Statement: In the summer of 2013, we cruised in Canadian Gulf Islands. One of our favorite ports was Cowichan, BC, where, at dusk, the headquarters of the Wooden Boat Society building cast dramatic black and white shadows in the water. The design for this quilt was inspired by a photo I took of the reflections.

Materials & Techniques: cotton fabric, cotton/bamboo batting, acrylic and polyester thread, machine applique, machine embroidery, machine quilting.
