Flow by Geraldine WarnerArtist Statement: My aim in creating this piece was to give the impression of dynamic shapes moving around, between, and over each other. I selected the colors to give the illusion of transparency. Materials & Techniques: Most of the fabrics I used were new or recycled commercial silks, but I had to hand-dye one of the fabrics to achieve the exact shade of green I needed for the transparent effect. The quilt was machine pieced except for the black and white circles, which were hand appliquéd. It was free-motion quilted with silk threads on my domestic sewing machine.
