Artist Statement: The light through the trees of the Brazilian Pantanal fractures as it strikes the banana leaves below. The sky in the isolated countryside is the purest turquoise color with not a cloud to be seen. 

Materials & Techniques: Hand dyed, soy waxed and hand painted with thickened dyes cotton fabrics. Machine pieced and quilted.
