Artist Statement: Judith Trager was a larger-than-life personality - a feisty, funny, talented, and generous, woman who recruited a half-dozen Seattle artists now known as "The Group" - or simply "Groupers." We dealt with the blow of her passing in January of 2022 by creating a piece to honor her generosity, spirit, and love of nature, especially the aspens of her beloved Colorado. We like to imagine her rich journey through life continuing through the aspens of another world.
