Artist Statement: Flowers are often associated with religious figures. In this quilt Mary is floating on green clouds holding a stem of white lilies. The lily is a symbol of purity and peace. Clouds are a symbol of Heaven.

I am currently investigating art from different world religions and cultures. This body of work includes artworks featuring Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic, Jewish, Christian, Vodou and ancient Egyptian imagery.
