Artist Statement: The pandemic gave me unlimited time in my studio. I marbled fabric in the backyard during the summers and created quilts with them during the winters. I fell in love with the dance of paint on the surface of water. This series of giant tree cross-sections emerged. In many ways it is an extension of my botanical quilts of the 2000s with their leaf shadows.

Materials & Techniques: All fabrics in this quilt started out solid black or white. Hand marbled cotton, machine quilted.
