Artist Statement: This is the 6th in my Pleiades Constellation raiment series portraying global myths of 7 sisters becoming 7 stars. “Story in the Stars: Greek Pleiades” tells of the 7 daughters of Atlas escaping the clutches of Orion when Zeus turns them into doves and then stars to brighten the night sky a few months of the year.

Materials & Techniques: Natural Indigo dyed cotton, lamé and spun polyester features, acrylic paint sticks, beads, shell buckle. Vat dyeing with bound and stitched-resist fabric (shibori), stencilling and fabric manipulation.
