Artist Statement: I spent many curious and delightful hours observing grasses in every spot imaginable, gleaning inspiration for this work of art. I didn't realize how many variations of grass grow where I live. I still find myself looking at meadows and beside the road, observing the changes these plants have made as they evolved through the seasons. Wonderous.

Materials & Techniques: Hand-dyed fabric, deconstructed screen-printed fabric, commercial batiks, permanent inks, acrylic paint, wool batting, cotton and polyester threads.
