Artist Statement: Trees are a recurring theme in human symbology--in Old Norse legend, the World Tree held Chaos at bay, delineating the spaces occupied by humankind, the gods, and the underworld.

Materials & Techniques: Discharged cotton, silk, cotton, rayon and metallic quilting threads. Machine pieced and quilted.
