Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry - ParabollipsesArtist Statement: The design grew out of a series of sketches I made in Corel Draw. I chose the colors to create the illusion that the shapes were partially transparent. When the piecing was finished my husband commented that there were lots of parabola shapes in it. I decided to invent a title that combined parabolas and ellipses and called it Parabollipses. Materials & Techniques: Fabric 100% cotton; Batting 50% cotton 50% bamboo. Machine pieced and quilted. Dimensions: 49" x 49" Photographer: Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry |
