Artist Statement: Like shooting stars, the lights on this piece emphasize the quilting design and add radiance to the piece. I drew inspiration for this quilt from a painting called “Farbstudie Quadrate”, c.1913 by Wassily Kandinsky, and recreated my version on the computer and had it custom printed on fabric.

Materials & Techniques: My design was created on the computer and the art was custom printed on organic cotton sateen fabric and quilted using a standard sewing machine. Fiery lights were couched on to the top of this quilt to add a twinkling effect.
