Artist Statement: My Pleiades series uses the form of stylized garments to portray global myths of 7 sisters becoming 7 stars. Traditional women have produced, not only clothing for the body, but used materials in their environment to express their culture’s mythology and their personal creativity: Lakota, North America

Materials & Techniques: Cotton, faux leather, faux fur, beads. Natural dyes: Indigo, Logwood, Myrobalan, Cochineal, Fustic, Chestnut, ochres, batting, canvas. Shibori, stencilling, brushing. Machine stitching, beading.
