Artist Statement: The Northern Flicker is a frequent visitor to our feeders. I was gifted with a feather from one of these beauties. It begged to be seen on a quilt.

Materials & Techniques: Commercial and hand-dyed cottons. Cheese cloth, found fibers. Decorative threads. Raw-edge appliqué, fusing, free motion quilting, and embroidery.
