Artist Statement: This composition of foundation pieced, intuitively joined log cabin blocks was inspired by the flashes of color seen through a valley's early morning haze in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Materials & Techniques: Commercial cottons (front and back), cotton batting, #50 cotton thread (piecing and quilting). Machine foundation piecing on vellum, intuitive construction, machine piecing, free-motion quilting, machine appliqué.
