Artist Statement: While researching the BRAC1 gene mutation, I came across several depictions of what a gene structure may look like. After several sketches, I began structuring my interpretation.

Materials & Techniques: Cotton fabric hand dyed by the artist, cotton and rayon thread, cotton batting. Freehand cut with rotary cutter, machine pieced, machine quilted.
