Artist Statement: Flamingos in nature look like they are holding a dancing pose.  Adding thrift store ballet slippers to highlight the dancing quality brings a smile to the day! And who doesn’t need a smile in today’s crazy world? The Flamingos' vibrant colors come from eating shrimp and algae. I played with this by using more thrift store finds. 

Materials & Techniques: The variety of fabrics with hand stitching create the colors and textures. The loose edges add value and an added dimension for a 3D feel.
