Artist Statement: My quilt was inspired by a photo I took of a heron and its reflection in Puget Sound at Carkeek Park in Seattle. I love the quiet majesty of these birds and their calm reflective walk.

Materials & Techniques: The water is whole cloth with multiple tulle overlays and overlapping quilting to form ripples in the water. The heron and its reflection are raw edge applique with thread painting overlay.
