Artist Statement: Nature is the source of inspiration for my landscape quilts. When I started making art quilts, my love and appreciation of the outdoors intensified as I began looking more closely at colors, shapes, shading and composition to figure out how to turn a natural landscape into a quilt.

Materials & Techniques: Batik and commercial fabric, interfacing, fusible, batting, thread. Starting with an inspiration photograph, I create a fabric collage using a variety of fabrics including many tiny scraps which I like to repurpose. I then add detail with thread during the quilting process.
