Artist Statement: As a native Oklahoman, I have long wanted to do a series of Oklahoma scenes. This mini landscape project was the perfect opportunity to get them completed. Now, I assure you, I was not alive for the duster or teepee scenes! I'm thinking genetic memory has kicked in. I have seen a tornado but not this close! My sister threatened to slap me "to snap me out of it" one morning when the sirens were sounding the alarm to take cover and I wanted to go outside and look to see where it was. In my defense, I was visiting from Seattle and had been missing the wonderful wild weather of my old home.
