Artist's Statement: Our country has a tenuous relationship of cooperation with Russia. In the years to come we hope that the "chains" of this relationship will continue to tighten through peaceful negotiations. This is the first in a series of quilts depicting this collaboration. "Sorok" translated from Russian means forty.

Materials and Techniques: Fabrics hand-dyed by the artist. Pieced by machine, collaged by machine, machine quilted.
